Terms of Service

By using Aura ("the service") you agree to these terms. Aura is a personal AI assistant built by Afrilingua AI ("we", "us"). It runs across mobile, web, desktop, browser, VS Code, sandbox, and Gist (the social surface).

1. Your Account

You must be at least 13 years old (16 in jurisdictions where that's the relevant threshold) and provide accurate sign-up information. You're responsible for activity under your account. Don't share credentials. Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use.

2. What Aura Will Do

Take read-only actions on connected services (e.g. read calendar, read email) on your behalf based on your instructions and learned preferences.
Take write actions (e.g. send email, create calendar event, post to Gist) only after explicit confirmation, unless you have configured a higher autonomy tier for that specific tool.
Build and maintain a personal knowledge graph using the information you share or connect.

3. What You Won't Do

Use Aura for anything illegal, harmful, hateful, or that violates third-party rights.
Attempt to extract model weights, reverse-engineer the agent, or bypass safety controls.
Use Aura to spam, harass, or impersonate others on Gist or any other surface.
Use Aura to build a competing service in a way that violates the terms of any third-party provider Aura calls on your behalf.

4. Bring Your Own Key (BYOK)

If you configure your own API keys for model, voice, or other providers, you are responsible for the agreement you have with that provider, including pricing, rate limits, and acceptable use. We pass requests through under the credentials you supply.

5. Gist

Gist is built on open social infrastructure. Content you post is signed by your portable identity and may be replicated to other servers in the open social network. Public posts are public globally and we cannot recall them from third-party servers. You retain ownership of your content; you grant us the licence necessary to host, transmit, and display it as part of operating the service.

6. Aura Code Sandbox

Sandboxes are ephemeral. We are not responsible for code, data, or builds you fail to commit before a sandbox expires. Don't store secrets in a sandbox you don't already have backed up.

7. Service Availability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Scheduled maintenance, model-provider outages, and force-majeure events may cause downtime. We will publish a status page when material outages occur.

8. Pricing & Billing

Aura is currently in beta and may be free of charge. Once paid plans launch, pricing will be presented before you subscribe. You can cancel any time. Refunds are at our discretion.

9. Termination

You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or threaten the safety of the service. We will notify you when feasible and offer an export window where appropriate.

10. Disclaimer & Liability

Aura is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Afrilingua AI is incorporated. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction unless local consumer-protection law requires otherwise.

12. Changes

We will update this page when our terms change. Material changes will be announced in-product before they take effect.
